See what to expect ↓Two appointments, one thoughtful plan
Every orthodontic patient begins with a records appointment, followed by a consultation on a separate day. We do this so your doctor can study your child's records carefully, rather than make recommendations on the spot.
The records visit
This visit is about gathering complete, accurate information. We review your child's health history and your concerns, including sleep, breathing, and feeding. Our team then takes digital scans in place of impressions, photographs, and 3D imaging that shows the jaws and the airway, and your doctor completes an examination of the teeth, jaws, tongue posture, and frenum attachments.
The consultation
With your child's records fully reviewed, your doctor sits down with you to explain what she found. She will walk you through her recommendations, the reasons behind them, and the best timing for treatment, and she will present a personalized treatment plan for you to review at home. Bring every question you have; this appointment is designed to answer them.
Tongue-tie and sedation consultations
Tongue- and lip-tie consultation
Your first appointment is a consultation with Dr. Bracy. She reviews your child's feeding history, assesses how the tongue and lip move, and explains her diagnosis. If a release is recommended, she walks you through the laser therapy options, what healing involves, and the timing that suits your family. Please bring any notes from your lactation consultant or therapist.
Pediatric sedation dentistry consultation
Your first appointment is a consultation with Dr. Bracy. She reviews your child's dental treatment plan with you, explains what the day of care will involve and what to expect before and after, and answers every question so that you feel prepared and confident.
